Christian Merkl is Professor of Economics at the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.
His research interests cover macroeconomics (especially monetary and fiscal policy), macroeconomic labour market research, and the area where both intersect. Previous research issues include, for example: the labour market effects of fiscal policy and short-time work, the labour market during the Great Recession and, volatility on the labour market.
