Corinna Kleinert studied communication science at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), where she earned her doctorate in sociology in 2003. After completing her studies, she worked as a research assistant at the LMU of Munich before joining the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Nuremberg in 2003.
Since January 2015, Corinna Kleinert has been Professor of Sociology with a focus on longitudinal educational research at the University of Bamberg and the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories e.V. (LIfBi). Since June 2021, she has also been the deputy director of the LIfBi.
She was appointed an IAB Research Fellow in 2024.
Corinna Kleinert’s research is on the transitions between school, education and the labour market, gender and inequality, and on survey methodology.
Her research findings have been published in numerous major journals such as European Sociological Review, International Journal of Comparative Sociology, Social Science Research or Journal of Marriage and Family.
