Professional career and research topics
Anita Tisch’s academic background includes a diploma in sociology from the Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg (2009) and a Master of Science in Gerontology from the University of Southampton (2012). She completed her doctorate at the University of Bamberg in 2015, at the Chair of Labour Studies.
Furthermore, from 2009 to 2016, she assumed the roles of researcher and project leader at the IAB. In 2016, she took up a position at the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) in Dortmund, initially heading the ‘Working Time and Flexibilisation’ group before assuming leadership of the ‘Changing World of Work’ department in June 2022. Since July 2024, she has occupied the position of Vice President at the BAuA. Since 2022, she has also been a part-time professor of ‘Digital Change and Ethics’ at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.
In 2025, Anita Tisch was appointed an IAB Research Fellow.
Her research focuses on digitalization and technological change, working hours and flexibilization, demographic and social change in the world of work.
Her work has been published in leading journals such as Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Scandinavian Journal of Public Health or Safety and Health at Work.
