International ELMI Conference ‘Securing Skilled Workforces in Europe’

IAB and the Network of European Labour Market Research Institutes (ELMI) organise a policy-oriented conference on 'Securing Skilled Workforces in Europe' in Brussels on October 1st and 2nd, 2024. The event is open to EU policy makers and representatives of the European Commission as well as the Directorates-General.

Programme

Day 1 of the conference will focus on labour market policies. After a keynote from Stefan Olsson, Deputy-Director General of the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, the ELMI institutes will present in four sessions research results on key aspects of securing skilled labour in Europe.  Representatives  from different directorates of the European Commission will comment on them. In the afternoon, there will be a panel discussion with panellists from EU institutions, academia, and representatives of employers, employees, and national authorities. Day 2 will focus on research. Here, the ELMI institutes will present their latest findings on securing a skilled workforce.

The panel discussion on day 1 (October 1st, 2024) will start at 5:00 pm (CET) with the topic `Does the EU provide the conditions we need for a strong and resilient European labour market?´
