Functions at the IAB
Professional background
Since January 2024, Dr. Luisa Hammer has been working as a research research associate (post-doc) in the Research Department Migration, Integration and International Labor Markets at the IAB.
After studying economics at the University of Cologne and at Freie Universität Berlin, and a research stay at Aarhus University, she was a research assistant at the Freie Universität Berlin (2019-2024). There she also completed her doctorate in 2025 as Dr.rer.pol. Previous professional stations include the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW), the Bundesbank and the German Bundestag.
Her research interests are in labor market and occupational research, in particular with regard to migration, wage and employment differences between women and men, and in family economics.
