Dual Career Netzwerk Nordbayern (DCNN) – Dual Career Network Northern Bavaria

Aiming towards a family-friendly personnel policy, the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) supports dual career couples through its active membership in the Dual Career Netzwerk Nordbayern (DCNN).

What is the DCNN?

The DCNN is an association of 20 scientific institutes in the area of Northern Bavaria. On the one hand, network members pursue the objective of winning and retaining highly qualified male and female scientists/researchers and, on the other, of supporting the better compatibility of two professional careers.

Target group and services of the DCNN

The target group of the DCNN is newly-appointed professors of the member institutions, both men and women, along with their partners who for professional reasons relocate the centre of their lives to the region of Northern Bavaria and who are to be supported in a targeted way in looking for a suitable position so that the partner accompanying them can continue his or her professional career.

Along with individual career advice and the support of newly-appointed male and female professors of the member institutions and their partners, the support services of the DCNN also extend to helping them orientate their private lives within the region of Northern Bavaria. For instance, dual career couples are helped with moving or in looking for suitable childcare.

In particular, the DCNN offers support by means of a personal advisory interview in order to identify the scope of support required, orientation via the local job market, the mediation and provision of contacts to potential employers and/or the passing on of application documents to suitable institutions as well as advice throughout the application process.

Please note

No guarantee can be given that a place of employment will be found.

Costs

Cooperation with the DCNN is free-of-charge.
