Katharina Wrohlich is Professor of Public Finance, Gender and Family Economics at the University of Potsdam and Head of the Gender Economics Research Group at DIW Berlin (German Institute for Economic Research). Her research focuses on the evaluation of family, tax and social policies as well as analyses of gender gaps in the labour market.
Katharina Wrohlich has worked at DIW Berlin since 2002. Among other things, she was the Deputy Head of the Public Economics Department from 2012 to 2016. In 2019, she assumed the position of Head of the Gender Economics research group. She obtained her PhD from FU Berlin in 2007. Previously, she studied economics at the University of Vienna and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and worked as a research associate at the University of Münster’s Institute of Public Finance.
