The rise of remote working has been changing where people in Germany work and live, particularly since the Covid-19 pandemic. By making the daily commute in many cases unnecessary, working from home weakens the hitherto strong geographical connection between residence and the workplace. Our recent study focusses on two important questions: Are people now willing to live further from their place of work? And are they taking up jobs that are much further away?
