Dual vocational training plays a central role in the transition from school to the labor market in Germany. Nevertheless, a significant proportion of apprenticeship contracts are terminated prematurely. This IAB Discussion Paper examines the long-term consequences of apprenticeship disruptions caused by business closures in Germany (2008–2022).
