Steven J. Davis received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Portland State University in Oregon (USA) in 1980, a Master’s Degree in 1981 and a Ph.D. in 1986, the latter two in economics from Brown University (Providence). He joined the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago in 1985, where he currently holds the positions of William H. Abbott Distinguished Service Professor of International Business and Economics.

Professor Davis was appointed an IAB Research Fellow in 2012.

His research interests include unemployment and employment; labour market flows; the structure of wages and earnings; tax effects on work activity; private equity; and economic performance.

Steven J. Davis has published his research in several major journals, such as the American Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Perspectives, the Journal of Political Economy and the Quarterly Journal of Economics.
